A prominent developer hired TopDog and Wayfinder Collaborative to help identify over a dozen open spaces and help direct pedestrians through a complex mixed use development in East Cambridge. This 43 acre, 4½ million sf development includes on-site access to public transit, bike and community paths, shops, restaurants, businesses and urban housing facilities. Our solution was to design multipurpose kiosks which incorporate user oriented maps, historic figures, community information and directional guidance. The kiosks include universal symbols as well as a color palette and grade 2 braille for those who are visually impaired.
